About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. This position is for a Physician specializing in Urology. The practice includes two surgery centers with 10 ORs, access to a DaVinci Robot Xi, and surgical block time. It is a high volume practice with limited call, serving a population of 142,000. A large primary care and multi-disciplinary medical team provides a strong referral base. The work schedule is designed to support a busy practice while maintaining quality of life. The facility is a Level III trauma center.

Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated Urology residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
• Applicants not board certified at the time of application but who have completed residency within the last five years must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
• Demonstrate at least 50 urology procedures in the last 12 months (either through residency log, quality profile, or documentation of clinical setting activity).

Nice To Haves

• Training at residency programs accredited by organizations other than ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada may be considered via the waiver of eligibility process.
• Those applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform history and physical examination.
• Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide pre-, intra-, and postoperative care for patients of all ages.
• Perform Urologic surgical procedures for patients of all ages.
• Manage disorders of the genitourinary system and the adrenal gland.
• Perform endoscopic, percutaneous, and open surgery of congenital and acquired conditions of the urinary and reproductive systems and their contiguous structures.

Benefits

• Compensation floor of $825,000 for the first two years of the employment contract.
• Potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs.
• $200,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 4 years (subject to a contractual agreement).
