About The Position

Danbury Hospital, now part of Northwell Health, is seeking a full time Surgical Physician Assistant to join our established and growing Surgical Advanced Practitioner Services program in Danbury, Connecticut. Our busy service of 12 full-time Advanced Practitioners currently provides services to all surgical patients admitted to the hospital, as well as in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room, including consults as well as pre and post-operative care. Specialties include, but are not limited to, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgical/Spine, Plastics, and ENT. As we grow the program, we will be evolving to a 24/7 service that includes some OR assist. This position follows a rotating schedule including days, weekends, holidays, and minimal overnight coverage. This is an employed position with Nuvance Health Medical Practice. Established in 1885, Danbury Hospital is a not-for-profit community hospital providing Greater Danbury area residents convenient access to exceptional care. Danbury Hospital has 371 beds and is a Level II Trauma Center with approximately 70,000 ED visits per year. As a teaching hospital, we are associated with the University of Vermont College of Medicine, Ross University, American University of the Caribbean, and Yale School of Medicine. Requirements

Board certified physician assistant
Previous surgical and/or patient management experience and/or surgical residency training and/or Da Vinci robotics training
New graduates will be considered

Responsibilities

Provides services to all surgical patients admitted to the hospital, as well as in Observation, Extended stay, Emergency room, and Operating room.
Performs consults as well as pre and post-operative care.
Evolving to a 24/7 service that includes some OR assist.
