About The Position

Mercy Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Oncologist with expertise or strong interest in HIPEC, cytoreductive surgery, peritoneal surface malignancy, and complex abdominal surgical oncology to join its growing Surgical Oncology team. This is an exceptional opportunity to join a nationally and internationally recognized peritoneal surface malignancy program with a mature referral base, high-volume operative experience, and a strong record of academic productivity. The program performs 90+ cytoreductive surgery/HIPEC procedures annually and has produced more than 10 first-tier peer-reviewed publications in peritoneal surface malignancy, cytoreductive surgery, HIPEC, ovarian cancer, appendiceal neoplasms, and related complex abdominal oncology topics.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Surgical Oncology
  • Expertise in diagnosis and treatment of a broad range of cancer diagnoses such as pancreatic, ovarian, appendiceal, thyroid, melanoma
  • Advanced surgical training in minimally invasive surgery as well as traditional open surgery

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the continued growth of this program clinically, academically, and administratively, including participation in research, multidisciplinary case review, tumor boards, and program development.
  • Practice in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Contribute to peer-reviewed publications, clinical outcomes research, trials, and academic presentations.
  • Provide leadership opportunities through multidisciplinary tumor boards, complex case conferences, and programmatic growth initiatives.
  • Support continuity, efficiency, and patient access through collaboration with a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Help lead and expand a premier surgical oncology and peritoneal surface malignancy program.
