About The Position

Skin Cancer Specialists, a portfolio practice of AQUA Dermatology, is a premier dermatology practice serving patients in metro Atlanta, north and south Georgia, eastern Alabama, and southern Tennessee. We offer comprehensive treatments for skin cancer, general dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, and aesthetic services. The ideal Surgical Medical Assistant candidate is positive, energetic, intelligent, highly dependable, organized, and can multitask. The MA is responsible for assisting the Provider with patient visits, including consultative and surgical procedures.

Requirements

Able to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others, patients, and co-workers
Able to prioritize tasks, understand the provider’s instructions, and know when to seek information or advice
Proficient communication skills (written and verbal)
Able to travel between locations
Hands-on experience in a clinical setting. We will train the right candidate

Nice To Haves

Medical Assistant (MA) Certification, Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) License, or LPN
Dermatology or surgical experience is preferred, not required

Responsibilities

Assisting providers in providing quality care to patients.
Greeting and preparing patients for examinations and treatments.
Providing side-by-side assistance with surgical procedures.
Assist with sterilizing instruments and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of exam rooms.
Reviewing medical history, accurately and confidentially maintaining patient records and documentation, and maintaining notes in the EMR system.
Obtaining appropriate consents when necessary.
Calling in prescriptions, performing patient call-backs, and handling administrative duties when necessary.
