Requirements

  • Commitment to patient-centered multidisciplinary critical care.
  • BE/BC in critical care with excellent clinical training.
  • BE/BC in general surgery.
  • MD degree.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced training in critical care preferred.
  • Strong interest in clinical research and medical education are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Staffing a 40-bed surgical ICU (20 cardiac/20 neuro) 24/7 with an Intensivist.
  • Working about 12-14, 12-hour shifts per month, rotating between consecutive day and night shifts.
  • Serving as the SICU Attending with responsibility for Critical Care in-house response.
  • Performing initial evaluations of new admissions to the unit.
  • Collaborating with primary attending or surgeon.
  • Opportunity to be involved in the general surgery call pool.
