About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for a Surgical Gynecology Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA). The role involves both inpatient and Operating Room (OR) coverage, including robotics. The facilities are located in Pomona, NJ, and Atlantic City, NJ, and are Level III trauma centers. The position is for an adult patient population, with an average of 2-6 cases per day. The EMR systems used are Cerner and Oracle. Credentialing is expected to take 60-90 days. This position is offered as an independent contractor (1099) role.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey licensure
- Board certification
- NPs must have RNFA certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS and ATLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Surgical Gynecology experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in New Jersey
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in New Jersey
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
Nice To Haves
- While specific requirements may vary, most locum APP positions prefer candidates with at least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
