About The Position

We are seeking a Surgical Critical Care Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Fort Smith, AR. This inpatient role requires on-call coverage for acute care surgery and trauma. The physician will be responsible for providing 24-hour shifts, 7 days a week, with a mix of in-house and beeper call. Responsibilities include ED consultations, urgent surgeries, and comprehensive management of trauma cases. The position is to provide supplemental coverage while permanent recruitment is ongoing.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible
• Licensed in AR
• ATLS certification
• Acute care surgery experience required
• Proficiency in Epic EMR

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call coverage for acute care surgery and trauma
• Perform emergency department consultations and urgent surgeries
• Manage trauma cases, including both operative and non-operative management
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team for patient care
• Maintain continuous coverage while permanent recruitment is ongoing
