About The Position

Texas Health Fort Worth is hiring a full-time Surgical Associate for its Operating Room. The position is based at Texas Health Fort Worth, 1301 Pennsylvania Ave., Fort Worth, TX 76104, and works a day shift from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, 40 hours per week.

The Operating Room is a fast-paced, high-volume department averaging 75 surgeries per day. It offers experience with high-acuity surgical procedures, including robotics, complex spine and orthopedic trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases. The department has an engaged leadership team and a robust Unit Based Council.

The Surgical Associate supports operating room operations by completing routine stocking, assisting with patient transport to and from operating room suites, and helping clean rooms before and/or after surgery. Texas Health Fort Worth is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated, full-service hospital that has served the Fort Worth community since 1930.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification before providing independent patient care, maintained quarterly.
• Read, write, and speak English.
• Able to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift.
• Able to move heavy equipment and supplies weighing up to 250 pounds on wheels without endangering themselves or others.

Responsibilities

• Complete routine stocking chores.
• Assist in moving patients to and from the operating room suites.
• Assist in room cleanup before and/or after surgery.
