Surgical Associate - Operating Room - Full-Time, Days
About The Position
The Surgical Associate supports the Operating Room at Texas Health Fort Worth. The role helps maintain operating room readiness by stocking supplies, assisting with patient transport to and from operating room suites, and helping clean rooms before and/or after surgery. The position is full-time, on the day shift, working 40 hours per week from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The department is a fast-paced, high-volume setting averaging 75 surgeries per day. It handles high-acuity surgical procedures as a Level I Trauma Center and offers experience with robotics, complex spine and orthopedic trauma, and intricate plastic surgery cases. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous patient care experience is preferred.
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification is required before providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
- Read, write, and speak English.
- Be able to stand and walk for the majority of the work shift.
- Be able to move heavy equipment and supplies weighing up to 250 pounds on wheels without endangering themselves or others.
Responsibilities
- Complete routine stocking chores.
- Assist with moving patients to and from the operating room suites.
- Assist with room cleanup before and/or after surgery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
