About The Position
The Surgical Associate works in the Surgery Department at Texas Health Southlake. This surgical specialty hospital has six operating rooms and performs a variety of procedures including ortho, ortho spine, general, GYN, plastics, ENT, podiatry, and Xi robot cases. The department offers a great work environment, positive culture, teamwork, and utilizes new and advanced equipment and technology.
Requirements
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent is required
- 2 years of PCA experience or 6 months surgical associate experience
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly is required
- Read, write and speak English
- Able to stand/walk for majority of hours of their work shift
- Easily move heavy equipment & supplies (up to 250 lbs on wheels) without endangering themselves or others
Nice To Haves
- Previous patient care experience is preferred
Responsibilities
- Completes routine stocking chores
- Ensures two arm boards and safety strap available for case
- Stocks and replaces suction liners
- Assists in moving patients to and from the operating room suites
- Assists in room cleanup before and/or after surgery
- Follows directions of circulating nurse in obtaining equipment, instruments and supplies as requested
