About The Position

Our office, Lehigh Valley Oral Surgery and Implant Center PC - Stroudsburg, is looking for a qualified surgical assistant. This position also supports the Bethlehem as needed. We are looking for a talented and skilled Surgical Assistant to help us accomplish our mission to improve the lives of our patients by providing a world-class specialty experience for every patient.

Requirements

At least 1+ years of experience as an oral surgical assistant
Knowledge of dental instruments and sterilization methods
Understanding of health & safety regulations
Ability to perform regulated non-surgical tasks
Good computer skills
Excellent communication and people skills
A strong attention to detail
Well-organized and reliable
A high school diploma
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to operate standard office equipment
Must be able to assist patients safely in and out of chairs or treatment areas
Must be able to maintain clinical positioning for extended periods
Must be able to work around medical equipment and instruments
Must be able to adhere to OSHA and infection control standards
Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements
Must be able to respond quickly in emergency situations

Nice To Haves

X-Ray certification is preferred
A certificate from an accredited surgical assistant program (if required by law)
An active state radiology license (if required by law)

Responsibilities

Prepare the surgical area, instruments, and equipment before each procedure.
Assist the surgeon during procedures by anticipating the surgeon's needs and assisting as required.
Keep surgical areas and instruments clean and sterilized.
Monitor and record patient vitals and ensure patient comfort and safety.
Prepare and provide post-operative instructions and materials to patients.
Help maintain inventory and order supplies as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by the surgeon or office manager.
Must travel to the Bethlehem office on an as-needed basis
As one of the essential members of our office, you will also help to facilitate/coordinate other office responsibilities as needed.
