About The Position

Children’s Wisconsin - Surgicenter is an outpatient surgery center that offers the latest technology and performs a wide variety of outpatient surgical procedures at a lower cost than area hospitals. We have a medical staff of over 150 board-certified surgeons, anesthesiologists specializing in pediatric care, and registered nurses certified in advanced cardiac life support and pediatric advanced life support. Our team also includes specially trained surgical technologists and assistants. Requirements

Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program required.
Completion of an accredited surgical assist program or at least 3 years of experience as a surgical assist after receiving workplace training required or relevant experience.
Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required.
CST-Certified Surgical Technologist - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Tech in Surgery (TS-C) - National Center for Competency Testing

Nice To Haves

Certified First Assistant credential preferred.

Responsibilities

Assisting in all aspects of assigned surgical procedures under the direct guidance of a physician.
Aiding in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions to help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.
Preparing for surgical procedures and assisting the entire surgical team.
Assisting with the orientation of new personnel in scrubbing and assisting roles.
Assuming all principal duties and responsibilities of a surgical technologist as assigned.
