The Surgical Assistant supports oral surgeons during procedures and helps ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced dental office. The role includes preparing surgical instruments, materials, and equipment; monitoring patient vital signs; assisting with postoperative care and patient education; documenting patient encounters and procedures; and supporting compliance with patient-safety standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. The assistant also supports office operations by maintaining clean, stocked operatories and equipment, managing supplies, and participating in monthly safety and compliance checks. These checks may include crash carts, fire extinguishers, emergency preparedness attestations, X-ray and Omni-cam calibration, controlled-substance inventory and records, oxygen-tank readiness, and controlled-substance invoices. The position requires teamwork, professionalism, strong communication, attention to detail, and a commitment to patient care and safety. The work is performed in a fast-paced dental office. Overtime may sometimes be required, and some travel may be needed for training or job functions. The stated schedule is Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, and Friday, 7:00 AM–2:30 PM.
