About The Position

Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine is seeking a Surgical AR Representative to oversee out-of-network billing and collections for three to four medical practices operating in different states, working from the organization’s central billing office in West Palm Beach, Florida. The role focuses on identifying denial trends, managing appeals for underpayment, and identifying, explaining, addressing, and demonstrating the root causes of nonpayment or underpayment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of full-time surgical billing reimbursement experience.
• Full understanding of surgical billing in hospital and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) environments.
• Superior knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement schemes.
• Exceptional organizational and computer skills.
• Willingness and ability to follow directions and adhere to priorities.
• Conversational knowledge of medical terminology, abbreviations, techniques, and surgical procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Excellent written and oral communication skills and solid analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Three years of eClinical Works RCM experience in patient account and denial management.

Responsibilities

• Identify trends in billing, coding, denials, and underpayment.
• Update plan IDs and patient and payer demographic information.
• Identify payer issues and trends.
• Manage rejections and denials, including system and clearinghouse rejections.
• Manage denials and appeals.
• Navigate insurance portals.
• Respond to medical record requests related to claim resolution.
• Train others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
