About The Position

Stonecliff Animal Clinic of New Hampshire is a multi-doctor, full-service general practice providing high-quality veterinary medicine since 1990. It is the sister hospital to Dr. Dan Kelly’s Stonecliff Veterinary Surgical Center. The brand-new facility offers top-notch services including preventative care, wellness care, routine and complex surgery, ultrasound, dental, and behavioral case management. Stonecliff is an AAHA accredited hospital, known for its friendly and caring environment for all clients and patients. The clinic aims to provide the best veterinary medical care in the northeast with state-of-the-art equipment, knowledgeable staff, and a genuine love for patients, committed to educating clients for informed pet health choices. This position is heavily focused on assisting with surgical procedures and anesthesia monitoring, requiring candidates to be proficient in both areas.

Requirements

  • A certified veterinary technician
  • 2+ year experience required
  • Experienced and proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
  • Knowledge in pre-operative care, preparation for surgical procedures, post-operative care, and discussing continued care with clients
  • Ability to interpret medical records and record client history accurately
  • Ability to restrain pets in a low-stress and safe manner
  • A high work ethic and positive attitude team member
  • Ability to arrive on-time and ready to work
  • Weekend availability
  • Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate precisely
  • Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
  • Ability to properly set-up and process laboratory samples and tests
  • Proficient in positioning and capturing radiographs
  • A self-starter with the desire to continue to advance one’s knowledge and skillset
  • Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

Responsibilities

  • Animal restraint
  • Triage of incoming patients
  • Collection and analysis of lab samples
  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability
  • Administration of medications
  • Effective communication of treatment plans with clients
  • Surgical preparation and assistance
  • Anesthetic management
  • Completing surgical notes and charts for procedures assisted with
