Requirements
- Veterinary Technician experience in a surgical setting.
- Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient care skills.
- Proficiency with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.
- Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.
Nice To Haves
- RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients and surgical suites for specialty surgical procedures.
- Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while ensuring patient safety.
- Collect and prepare diagnostic samples for laboratory testing.
- Assist surgeons during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
- Support a variety of advanced surgical procedures, including orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic surgeries.
- Monitor patient vital signs throughout all stages of anesthesia and recovery.
- Maintain surgical equipment and ensure instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized.
- Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia documentation.
- Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
- Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
