Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician experience in a surgical setting.
  • Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient care skills.
  • Proficiency with anesthetic calculations, CRIs, fluid therapy, and medication administration.
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and teamwork skills.
  • A collaborative mindset and commitment to exceptional patient care.

Nice To Haves

  • RVT, CVT, LVT, or VTS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients and surgical suites for specialty surgical procedures.
  • Induce, monitor, and recover patients under anesthesia while ensuring patient safety.
  • Collect and prepare diagnostic samples for laboratory testing.
  • Assist surgeons during procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
  • Support a variety of advanced surgical procedures, including orthopedic, soft tissue, thoracic, laparoscopic, and arthroscopic surgeries.
  • Monitor patient vital signs throughout all stages of anesthesia and recovery.
  • Maintain surgical equipment and ensure instruments are properly cleaned and sterilized.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and anesthesia documentation.
  • Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and support teams.
  • Contribute to a positive, team-focused hospital culture.
