St Anthony is a designated Pathway Hospital, serving residents on the Peninsula including Gig Harbor, Key Peninsula and Port Orchard. Visitors have access to state-of-the-art medical care, including 24/seven emergency services, sophisticated in- and outpatient surgery, complete outpatient cancer care, pharmacy services and more. Amenities include spacious private rooms, a healing garden that provides a peaceful outdoor escape and our award winning cafe. Our main OR suite includes 6 operating rooms and we perform over 3,200 cases per year, including general, orthopedics, urology, gynecology and robotics. Our Surgical Services Leadership team includes a Director, a Perioperative Clinical Manager, and a Perianesthesia Clinical manager. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. Our surgical services nurses provide pre-, intra- and post-operative nursing care to all patient populations undergoing surgical procedures. This work includes developing, implementing and assessing the patient plan of care in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams and the patient and family.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • One year of related OR work experience is strongly preferred
  • Current WA State Licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Basic Life Support - CPR certification through the American Heart Association

  • Develop, implement and assess the patient plan of care in collaboration with physicians, interdisciplinary teams and the patient and family
  • Adhere to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards
  • Keep abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility
  • Administer, oversee and document the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy
  • Assess patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs
  • Gather data relevant for patient care
  • Implement appropriate patient interventions and evaluate outcomes
  • Plan care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments
  • Provide holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice
  • Prepare patient for discharge and assist with coordinating post discharge needs
  • Demonstrate proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication and understand how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services
  • Demonstrate knowledge and proper skills associated with the department’s defined specific populations served
  • Demonstrate competent professional practice and engage in opportunities for professional growth
  • Demonstrate self accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements
  • Document care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards of care, for example, changes in patient condition, patient responses to intervention and reassessments of pertinent findings
  • Receive and assure appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders
