As an RN on this team, you will play a vital role assisting surgeons during procedures, setting up instrumentation, and much more. You will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care offering the opportunity to enhance the patient’s experience and supply healthcare information as needed. Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within 6 months of hire
  • One year RN experience required or completion of Cleveland Clinic perioperative residency program.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver professional nursing care in an operative setting to adult and pediatric patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
  • Perform scrub functions, such as selecting and handling instruments and supplies.
  • Perform circulating functions, such as monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing the overall nursing care of patients before, during and after the procedure.
  • Assist the operating physician with surgical tasks, such as hemostasis, suturing, wound exposure and patient positioning.
  • Prepare the Operating Room, surgical instruments and surgical equipment for use.
