About The Position
The Surgery Service Representative 1 assists with all pre-operative preparations with the goal of ensuring an excellent healthcare experience for patients. Additionally, the Surgery Service Representative 1 acts as a liaison between the patient, surgeon, primary care physician, and the surgical facilities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent/relevant experience, certification or license
- Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
- Learning Agility: Ability to learn new procedures, technologies, and protocols, and adapt to changing priorities and work demands.
- Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others and contribute to a team environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using office software, technology, and relevant computer applications.
- Communication: Strong and clear written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues and stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Assists with the maintenance of operating room schedules and reconciles schedules to records.
- Reviews records to ensure compliance with the case management system and office guidelines.
- Codes records with all necessary information for charge entry, on a daily basis.
- Verifies insurance information and takes appropriate steps to obtain any missing information.
- Maintains an organized record of charges by batching patient records by date of service.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
