About The Position

The Surgery Scheduling Specialist position is a full-time role, 40 hours weekly, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, located at the Women’s Care Clinic at 8160 Walnut Hill Lane, Suite 116, Dallas, TX 75231. This role is part of Texas Health Physicians Group, which comprises over 1,000 physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants across more than 240 offices in the DFW Metroplex, all dedicated to providing quality, patient-safe care. The Women’s Care Department is characterized by strong teamwork, collaboration, and a fast-paced, high-volume environment for inbound/outbound calls, requiring compassion and empathy towards patients and the team. The specialist will contribute to an innovative team focused on enhancing healthcare accessibility, integration, and reliability. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Requires strong customer skills
  • Good communication skills
  • A team player who handles multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • 2 Years related experience in Healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Delivers care to patients utilizing the Surgery Scheduling Specialist Process
  • Schedules all inpatient and outpatient surgery and medical procedures, tests and studies ordered by the physician
  • Coordinates, registers and schedule appointments for patients according to availability
  • Conducts physician pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care
  • Ensures all required tests needed prior to surgery are done
  • Coordinates and ensures necessary equipment is ordered, room availability/scheduled, pre-surgery medication, etc., is arranged prior to scheduled procedure
  • Schedules any necessary follow-up appointments
  • Communicates and answers patients’ questions regarding surgery preparation instructions, arrival/departure instructions relative to procedure
  • Performs other duties as assigned
