About The Position

Vein and Artery Surgical Consultants (VASC) is looking to hire a Surgery Scheduler to be a part of our growing practice. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to ensuring a seamless and efficient scheduling experience for our patients and healthcare team. Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in a vascular surgery setting.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certification as a medical assistant is a plus.
  • Proficiency in medical scheduling software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality customer service.

Nice To Haves

  • additional certification as a medical assistant is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule outpatient vascular surgeries and related procedures, considering patient needs, urgency, and surgeon availability.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, providing them with procedure details, preparation instructions, and addressing any concerns or questions.
  • Maintain and update patient records with procedure schedules, insurance information, and other necessary data.
  • Work closely with medical staff to ensure schedules are optimized for the most efficient use of resources.
  • Handle rescheduling or cancellation requests and manage waitlists to ensure timely care for our patients.
  • Provide bilingual support (English/Spanish) to ensure clear communication with our diverse patient population.
  • Follow up with patients to confirm appointments and procedures.
  • Liaise with insurance companies for procedure authorizations and verify patient insurance coverage.
  • Assist with the management of surgical documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy laws.
