About The Position

Texas Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join their team. This role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of surgical procedures for patients, working closely with physicians, medical staff, insurance companies, and patients. The Surgery Scheduler ensures surgeries are scheduled, financial clearance is obtained and communicated, and the entire surgical process is conducted smoothly, providing comprehensive support.

Requirements

Experience with computer-based software (eClinicalWorks experience preferred in addition to Microsoft Word and Excel)
Three years of experience in healthcare, insurance, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

Obtains and documents verification of patient benefits, including network participation status, patient out-of-pocket expenses, and exclusions.
Provides financial counseling to patients, including cost estimates, payment terms, collection of payment, and addressing any barriers related to financial clearance.
Works collaboratively with providers, clinic staff, and the CBO team to ensure all financial clearance requirements are met.
Coordinates all aspects of surgical procedures, including scheduling surgery dates and pre-operative assessments.
Collaborates closely with ENT physicians and other healthcare providers to facilitate seamless coordination of patient care, ensuring all parties are informed and prepared for surgical procedures.
Coordinates with hospital or surgical center staff to secure operating room availability, necessary equipment, and other resources required for surgical procedures, optimizing efficiency and minimizing delays.
Reviews medical policies to ensure documentation guidelines are met.
Obtains pre-authorizations timely and documents reference/authorization numbers.
Accurately documents all communication.
