As our Surgery Scheduler, you will coordinate and schedule surgeries, procedures, and follow-up appointments across multiple physician teams, keeping each surgeon's operative, procedural, clinic, research, and administrative schedules aligned. You will serve as the central point of coordination for surgeons' overall practice across Seattle, RMC, and off-site clinic locations. Every day you will manage day-of-visit patient flow, room patients, and handle phone and Cerner message communications to keep the clinic running smoothly. You will also provide procedure room support and step in for sick and vacation coverage to ensure continuity of care.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in healthcare or a related environment, with knowledge of medical/surgical terminology
  • Experience with IBM/Cerner/IDX
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and de-escalation skills
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure
  • Collaborative, reliable, and punctual
  • Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) through the State of Washington, sponsored by Virginia Mason, required within 60 days of hire (only if required by the department for patient rooming and workflows)
