About The Position

Baptist Health Medical Group is seeking a full-time Scheduling Coordinator for their Orthopedics practice in the New Albany, Indiana area. This is a first-shift position. The Scheduling Coordinator will be responsible for making appointments for patients, both in-office and over the phone, for doctor visits, testing, and procedures at hospitals and other facilities. They will also coordinate combined cases with plastic surgeons for tumor removal. This role requires close collaboration with various hospital departments, including Nurse Navigation, Genetics, Oncology, Surgery Scheduling, Plastic Surgery, and Radiology. The position involves updating medical records, obtaining insurance authorizations, and performing general office duties, including scanning patient records into OnBase.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years clerical experience in a physician office preferred.
• Computer knowledge such as Medical Office and Scheduling Applications preferred.
• Clear and concise communication regarding surgical scheduling.
• Organizational skill is key.

Responsibilities

• Make appointments for patients in office and on the phone to see the doctors, testing and to schedule procedures in the hospital and at other facilities.
• Schedule combined cases at the same time of tumor removal with plastic surgeon.
• Work closely with other departments in the hospital including but not limited to Nurse navigation, Geneticists, Oncology, Surgery scheduling, Plastic Surgery and Radiology.
• Update medical record accordingly.
• Perform other general office assignments.
• Daily scanning of patient records into OnBase.
• Obtain appropriate authorization through the patient's insurance company.
