About The Position

Texas Orthopedics, a division of OrthoLoneStar, is seeking a Surgery Scheduler/Triage Trainer for their South Austin location. This role reports to the Patient Services Director and is a Full-Time, Non-exempt position within the Clinic department. The primary responsibilities include training new and established employees, assisting with quality assurance, and developing written protocols and reference materials to ensure standardization across all locations.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a medical office setting
  • Proficient computer skills – Outlook, general Microsoft Office functionality, copy & paste function, ability to move in and out of applications with ease
  • Knowledge of medical and insurance terminology
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proficient in time management and reprioritization
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and written
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and provide an onboarding training program for Clinic Coordinators via classroom style training, which may include multiple individuals in parallel while offering individualized training as needed.
  • Travel to various locations to provide transitional training for new hires within the clinic setting.
  • Provide ongoing training initiatives as needed to individuals in a virtual setting.
  • Conduct provider preference-based training.
  • Provide training as needed for preparation of workflow changes, cross coverage of physician preferences for adaptability, and other ongoing needs.
  • Assist with QA checks for the departments.
  • Assist with policies and procedures working closely with the regional leadership team.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining common procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with clinic standards of quality patient care.
  • Identify and resolve operational problems in department(s) and interact with other leadership team members to ensure coordinated efforts.
  • Create and maintain training checklists and assessments.
  • Monitor and track progress for trainees.
  • Report and notate any non-compliance or other performance concerns to reporting leadership team member.
  • Provide coverage as a Clinic Coordinator at assigned locations on an as needed basis.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
