About The Position

Dignity Health Medical Group (DHMG) is the employed physician group of Dignity Health Arizona, employing approximately 400 providers and 1200 support staff across a wide variety of specialties. DHMG has experienced significant success, now offering over 73 subspecialty services. Requirements

• High School Graduate / GED
• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or completion of an U.S. Armed Forces medical services training program.
• Candidates who completed a program prior to February 2, 2000 can satisfy the minimum education requirements by providing evidence of direct supervision by the same physician, physician group, or physician assistant for a minimum of 2000 hours to satisfy the minimum education requirements
• Demonstrated experience with computer program utilized for checking-in and scheduling patients
• American Heart Association BLS card
• One year related Surgery Procedure Coordinator experience
• Familiarity with operating room scheduling processes is critical
• Coordinate schedules for physicians, ORs, anesthesiologists, equipment, labs
• Ability to effectively interact with insurance carriers
• Gather and record financial and insurance information and ensure authorizations are obtained prior to the procedure/surgery

Responsibilities

• Providing a basic level of patient care and treatment.
• Assisting with obtaining vital signs.
• Documenting chief complaint.
• Obtaining patient history.
• Providing assistance to physicians, residents and/or licensed nursing personnel.
• Alerting physician of problems/concerns/abnormalities.
• Coordinating the schedules of physicians, operating rooms, anesthesiologists, equipment, lab work, and any other required items/staff in accordance with a physician's recommendation for patient care.
