About The Position

Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics is looking for an amazing Surgery Center Coordinator to join their team. At Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics, the focus is on creating positive dental experiences for children to foster lifelong healthy habits. They offer comprehensive services including preventive dental care, orthodontics, and oral surgery. The practice primarily serves private-pay, DentaQuest, Healthnet, and PPO insured patients. The Surgery Center Coordinator will be an integral part of the practice team, focusing on delivering a memorable and fun service experience, particularly for new patients, and ensuring parents understand the benefits of suggested treatments.

Requirements

  • Previous dental front office experience and/or oral surgery experience highly preferred
  • Knowledge of Dentrix or Planet DDS Denticon a plus
  • Clinical Sales Experience preferred
  • Experience giving technical or clinical presentations in treatment presentations
  • Requires strong financial acumen; experience discussing payment options, financing terms and overall comfort having sensitive financial conversations
  • Able to exercise good judgement and keep confidential information with discretion
  • Must love working with children
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Clean, neat professional appearance
  • A self-starter with superb organizational skills, attention to detail, with the ability to multitask
  • Strong communication skills are a MUST (verbal and written)
  • Requires a team player who can work independently; is proactive, reliable, punctual, able to prioritize tasks and manage time
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, supports the office culture, and stays strong under pressure
  • Must be able to learn quickly and have a strong desire to grow professionally

Responsibilities

  • Call new patient consults two days in advance to make sure they received all information and answer any questions
  • Prepare all insurance benefit information for each patient prior to the visit
  • Greet family in a polite and professional manner
  • Provide consultation in a separate area giving parent privacy and opportunity to ask questions
  • Make all financial arrangements per company guidelines
  • Set up initial treatment appointment
  • Follow up on all scheduled treatments and advice doctors of status
  • Review schedule daily, weekly and monthly and use grides to fill open treatment times
  • Communicate weekly with the CPMO about any scheduling concerns (i.e. consults back log, shortage of appointments)
  • Communicate with doctors on a regular basis about any important developments
  • Submit pre-authorizations if applicable
  • Thank non - Kid's Care Dental doctors for referrals
  • Maintain confidentiality of business and patient information
  • Perform other duties/assignments as needed by Kids Care Dental & Orthodontics.
