Requirements
- Reliability: Dependable transportation and the ability to report to duty within 8 hours or less of an activation notice.
- De-escalation & Care: Skilled in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and trauma-informed care practices.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Current CPR and Naloxone certifications (or willingness to obtain within 1 month of hire)
- Ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in shelters, social services, or crisis environments preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate support: Deliver trauma-informed care and build rapport with shelter participants while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Support Shelter Operations: Assist with shift checklists, safety, cleanliness, participant appointments, and community partner visits.
- Maintain Safety: Utilize conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques to support crisis intervention when needed.
- Guide Team Support: Engage and assist interns and volunteers on-site during your shift.
- Ensure Readiness: Respond promptly to shelter activation calls and help keep the space organized, safe, and inclusive.
