About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a Surface Treater for the 2nd Shift. This role involves operating surface treatment and cleaning equipment to prepare turbine engine parts. The position requires working from instructions and operation sheets to set up and adjust equipment, running test pieces, and performing routine servicing. The role may also involve training for and obtaining necessary licenses and certifications, and potentially performing tasks not specifically listed to support department objectives and skill development.

Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent
6-12 months of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
DoD Clearance: Confidential
Active and existing security clearance required on day 1

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a number of surface treatments and cleaning equipment to prepare a variety of turbine engine parts for subsequent operations.
Perform masking and media finishing operations where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.
Work from verbal and written instructions and operation sheets to set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of manually and numerically controlled surface treatment equipment.
Run test pieces and reoperate rejected parts following prescribed repair instructions, checking both visually and with gages provided.
Perform routine servicing throughout such as operator’s checklists for upkeep and to ensure equipment operates properly.
May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
May be required to train for, obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
