About The Position

The Surface Operator is responsible for equipment operation as well as lump coal hand screening functions to support mining operations. Position also requires willingness and ability to work outside the cab on a variety of physical tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Driver's License in good standing
• Heavy equipment experience operating skid steer and front-end loaders required
• Ability / willingness to work any shift assigned (days, swings, weekends, and graves) required. We are a 24/7 operation.
• Ability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Work in a fast-paced, collaborative, progressive, and high-performing team
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 80 pounds on occasion
• Must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, non-DOT physical, and DMV check
• Strong documented work history and reliable means of transportation are a must
• Must live within 60 miles of Hesperus Co. or be willing to relocate
• 16-Hour MSHA Surface Certification Required
