About The Position

JENNMAR Services is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to support operations at a coal preparation plant. This role is critical to ensuring maximum uptime, equipment reliability, and safe production flow across all plant systems. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for individuals who can diagnose, repair, and prevent failures in a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment with minimal supervision.

Requirements

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a coal prep plant or heavy industrial environment
• Strong knowledge of: Conveyor systems; Rotating equipment (motors, pumps, gearboxes); Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Experience with welding (stick/MIG preferred) and torch work
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
• Proven troubleshooting ability under pressure
• Familiarity with MSHA safety standards

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience specifically in a coal preparation plant
• Basic electrical troubleshooting (480V systems a plus)
• Experience with PLC systems or plant automation
• Millwright background
• MSHA certification

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on prep plant equipment, including: Conveyors, belts, rollers, and pulleys; Crushers, screens, and feeders; Pumps, motors, gearboxes, and hydraulic systems; Dense media systems, cyclones, and flotation circuits
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues
• Conduct daily inspections to identify wear, damage, or failure risks
• Execute lockout/tagout procedures and follow all safety protocols
• Perform welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed
• Replace bearings, shafts, belts, and structural components
• Assist with plant shutdowns, rebuilds, and major repairs
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
• Work closely with plant operators to minimize downtime and improve efficiency
