About The Position
Moeller Precision Tool is seeking a skilled Surface Grinder / Wire EDM Operator to join our team in Ayr, Ontario. In this role, you'll manufacture high-precision tooling components using surface grinding and Wire EDM equipment in a clean, climate-controlled facility. Requirements
- 2+ years of machining, surface grinding, tool & die, or Wire EDM experience
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, etc.)
- Experience maintaining tight tolerances on precision components
- Strong mechanical aptitude and basic math skills
Nice To Haves
- Hands-on experience with manual surface grinding equipment and Wire EDM preferred
- Experience with Mitsubishi, Makino, Fanuc, or similar Wire EDM equipment is a plus
- Experience working with tool steel strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate manual surface grinding equipment
- Perform precision grinding of tool steel components
- Work with fixtures, blocks, and tooling setups
- Set up and operate Wire EDM machines to machine precision components
- Perform machine adjustments, offsets, and program verification
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Hold tight tolerances and maintain high-quality standards
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments
- Support machining and tooling operations as needed
