About The Position
This position is responsible for building, repairing, and maintaining production support equipment. This includes working with Engineering/Manufacturing to build equipment such as chutes, racks, conveyors, guards, and ventilation equipment. The role also involves all aspects of injection molding machines and their supporting equipment, including routine maintenance and repair. A key responsibility is developing, implementing, and maintaining preventative maintenance programs to ensure optimum performance and minimize downtime. The position also includes maintaining and repairing in-plant vehicles (forklifts, carts, man-lifts), managing inventory levels for manufacturing and facilities, and performing routine building and facility repairs (plumbing, air lines, floor drains, layout changes, safety concerns). Support for all department facilities needs, including working with outside contractors for both inside and outside facilities, is also required. The role involves troubleshooting equipment and machinery issues causing manufacturing problems and downtime, and problem-solving to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- Experience in building, repairing, and maintaining production support equipment.
- Knowledge of injection molding machines and supporting equipment.
- Ability to develop, implement, and maintain preventative maintenance programs.
- Skills in maintaining and repairing in-plant vehicles.
- Proficiency in inventory management for manufacturing and facilities.
- Experience with building and facility repairs (plumbing, air lines, floor drains, layout changes, safety concerns).
- Ability to work with outside contractors.
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for equipment and machinery issues.
- Ability to determine root causes and prevent recurrence of issues.
Responsibilities
- Builds, repairs, and maintains production support equipment.
- Works with Engineering/Manufacturing to build production support equipment such as chutes, racks, conveyors, guards and ventilation equipment.
- Handles all aspects of injection molding machines and supporting equipment.
- Performs routine maintenance and repair of equipment.
- Develops, implements, and maintains preventative maintenance programs.
- Manages preventative maintenance to ensure optimum performance and elimination of unnecessary downtime.
- Ensures the completeness of the system.
- Assists in the training of preventative maintenance programs for production associates.
- Conducts all preventative maintenance activities in assigned area.
- Maintains and repairs all in-plant vehicles (forklifts, milk run carts, man-lift, etc.).
- Performs and maintains proper inventory levels for Manufacturing and Facilities.
- Performs routine building and facility repairs, maintenance, and modification as needed (plumbing, air lines, floor drains, layout changes, safety concerns, etc.).
- Supports all department needs pertaining to the facilities, including working with outside contractors.
- Troubleshoots equipment and machinery issues causing manufacturing issues and downtime.
- Problem solves and determines root causes to prevent issues from reoccurring.
