About The Position

Join Aon's Construction & Infrastructure team as a Surety Broker, where you'll help clients navigate complex bonding requirements and support the success of major construction projects. In this client-focused role, you'll manage surety accounts, identify growth opportunities, and deliver trusted advice and innovative solutions that help businesses thrive. This position starts in-office to support onboarding and team integration, then transitions to a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of three days per week in the office. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit. Requirements

  • Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with clients
  • A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of surety and construction industry practices is an asset, but a willingness to learn and grow in the field is equally valued

Responsibilities

  • Review bids and prepare sunshine letters, surety bonds and invoice preparation
  • Lead by example and assist colleagues in delivering DAU to clients and prospects
  • Delivering continuous excellence in servicing an existing book
  • Collaborate with fellow Leaders within the Edmonton and Calgary branches to deliver the best of Aon to clients and prospects in need of construction advisory service and solutions
  • Identifying specific client and prospect needs and developing innovative and cost effective solutions
  • Ensure all procedures, internal client files and correspondence are in compliance with Aon audit standards
  • Reviewing and revise Surety facilities
  • Coordinating / providing oversight to the account team and establish client service plans that prioritize the account activities and profitability in a value-based approach for the scope of services required
  • Participating in industry sponsored events and improve opportunities to become involved with various industry committees
