About The Position

Supervises work of assigned shift employees, including post assignments, schedules and special duty assignments as may be required. Reviews and completes required evaluations of assigned employees. Ensure compliance on organizational required documentation such as evaluations or training. Performs corrective action on employees up to and including written reprimand. Recommendations for suspension and termination will be forwarded to Security Administration for action. Reports all unusual problems or occurrences to the Security Administration. Trains new employees for various post assignments and the proper completion of written incident reports. Covers any post not covered during officer absences and shortages.

Requirements

  • GED or High School Diploma
  • Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license with clean record, or violations not exceeding maximum points as provided in hospital policy.
  • 3-5 years - Security or law enforcement experience
  • Ability to reason and make decisions independently without direct supervision under a variety of conditions.
  • Maintain a visually attractive appearance in personal hygiene and uniform.
  • Take the initiative to reach out and assist the visitor, patient, etc. with genuine interest in their needs.
  • Present positive attitude in performing assignments and providing assistance.
  • Use a considerate and comforting tone when assisting distraught customers, visitors and patients.
  • Ability to diffuse and control situations involving anger, confusion and threatening conditions.
  • Ability to remain calm and in control during verbal and physical threats from customers and others.
  • Present a professional and helpful attitude while on the telephone.

Nice To Haves

  • AA/AS Degree or college course in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field.
  • Three to five (3-5) years security in a hospital environment.
