About The Position

Covenant Health Fitness Center is a 5-star health club offering a wide variety of group fitness classes, indoor and outdoor tennis, heated indoor and outdoor pool, pickleball, racquetball, Squash, childcare, basketball court, in addition to a full selection of strength and cardio equipment. It is the only Tennessee Quality award-winning fitness facility in the state. The facility offers extensive classes, programs for all ages of the family, and The Day Spa. Programs include aquatics, racquet sports, youth classes, individual training opportunities, Weight Management program, Small Group Training, virtual fitness, and group fitness. Group fitness classes range from kickboxing and cardio classes to indoor cycling and mind/body wellness. Strength training options include resistance equipment, free weights, and body sculpting classes. They also offer community-based group fitness classes through Covenant’s BodyWORKS Program. The Group Fitness Supervisor is a full-time hourly position responsible for the supervision and administration of all Group Fitness related activities within Fort Sanders Health and Fitness Center and the community. Hours may be supplemented with teaching classes not to exceed a total of 40 hours per week and no more than 10 classes per pay period.

Requirements

  • Equivalent prior work experience and understanding of Customer Service
  • CPR/PR certifications

Nice To Haves

  • Preference may be given to individuals possessing a Bachelor’s degree in a directly-related field from an accredited college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Meets monthly with staff to communicate and discuss programming and needs.
  • Stays up to date with industry trends and determines if those trends work well for our customer base.
  • Ensures all equipment for classes is in working order and coordinates with maintenance to repair down equipment.
  • Maintains clean and organized studios – including equipment in the studios.
  • Purchases supplies and minor equipment based on need and budget.
  • Creates monthly schedule.
  • Oversees payroll.
  • Oversees ongoing individual training of the group fitness staff as it relates to customer service, operations, and practical responsibilities.
  • Serves as a Manager on duty.
  • Participates with the annual budget planning and process.
  • Attends biweekly manager staff meeting.
  • Follows policies, procedures, and safety standards. Completes required education assignments annually. Works toward achieving goals and objectives, and participates in quality improvement initiatives as requested.
