About The Position

Under the general supervision of the Production Superintendent, this role is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. The objective is to meet all production and shipping requirements safely, timely, and efficiently. This position collaborates with the QC Laboratory and Maintenance Departments to develop and implement quality and maintenance programs.

Requirements

Good working knowledge of OSHA regulations.
Ability to have good communication and leadership skills.
Some knowledge of SAP.
Knowledge of computer skills (MS Office, Word, Excel) and organizational skills.
Good decision-making ability.
Must be able to initiate problem-solving as issues arise during the shift.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

Batch management experience is helpful.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, and control the day-to-day activities of the Production Department to meet customer requirements, including order scheduling, manpower planning, and effective equipment utilization.
Ensure all employees understand and follow standard operating procedures through training programs and control systems. Communicate special instructions to operators and enforce plant rules and regulations.
Handle complaints, grievances, and counseling as required. Process personnel and payroll paperwork and keep Management informed of potential human or labor relations issues.
Ensure good housekeeping practices are maintained throughout the plant.
Actively participate in plant safety programs, including reviewing and enforcing safety and health regulations, providing safety training, and investigating safety problems or accidents within the department.
Ensure compliance with hazardous waste programs and hazard material identification systems.
Support the laboratory in all aspects of quality control, including process improvements, sampling and manufacturing techniques, raw material approval, and work-off programs.
Coordinate with the Maintenance Department to implement an effective and timely maintenance program for proper equipment longevity.
Work with inventory control to measure and control raw material and ink losses through accurate measuring and control systems.
Document and report on equipment utilization, department productivity, and overtime performance.
Report and discuss any manufacturing or delivery problems with Management.
Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
