About The Position

Trains and supervises personnel engaged in receiving and dispatching police services requests; coordinates the exchange of crime information data and monitors unit operating budget. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a criminal justice environment.
  • Must be certified through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) with a full certification as a Terminal Agency Coordinator within six-month probationary period.
  • Must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment.
  • An official investigation into applicants’ background will be conducted including a criminal history records check.
  • A physical examination, including drug/alcohol screen, will be required.

Nice To Haves

  • College level education may substitute for related experience on a year-for-year basis.
  • Preference given to candidates with two years of college and/or previous public safety communications experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns work to and supervises unit employees. Ensures day-to-day activities, in support of unit work goals, are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner within established policies and procedures.
  • Coaches personnel on proper performance of work, frequently providing direct technical assistance.
  • Plans, monitors, evaluates and develops employee performance to maximize employee potential and maintain a high-performance environment.
  • Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business.
  • Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned, including Transit Ambassador assignments.
