About The Position

Trains and supervises personnel engaged in receiving and dispatching police services requests; coordinates the exchange of crime information data and monitors unit operating budget. Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a criminal justice environment.
Must be certified through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) with a full certification as a Terminal Agency Coordinator within six-month probationary period.
Must obtain Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) certification within 30 days of employment.
An official investigation into applicants’ background will be conducted including a criminal history records check.
A physical examination, including drug/alcohol screen, will be required.

Nice To Haves

College level education may substitute for related experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preference given to candidates with two years of college and/or previous public safety communications experience.

Responsibilities

Assigns work to and supervises unit employees. Ensures day-to-day activities, in support of unit work goals, are completed in an efficient and cost-effective manner within established policies and procedures.
Coaches personnel on proper performance of work, frequently providing direct technical assistance.
Plans, monitors, evaluates and develops employee performance to maximize employee potential and maintain a high-performance environment.
Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business.
Performs work that affects business operations to a substantial degree.
Performs other related duties as assigned, including Transit Ambassador assignments.
