About The Position

This position will provide a variety of support services at the Red Cliff Community Health Center. This position will assist with greeting and registering patients presenting to the Red Cliff Community Health Center, as well as assisting with basic Business Clerk and Purchased Referred Care office functions.

Requirements

  • Experience working in electronic health record systems.
  • Computer literacy, in particular MS Xcel and Word.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate, and direct varied, complex patient care workflow.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to respond to unusual circumstances.
  • Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED required.
  • Valid driver’s license and at least liability insurance.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of clerical experience in a medical setting, preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and at least liability insurance; preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients professionally and cordially.
  • Provide coverage for the registration desk.
  • Interview clients in-person to update demographics at each visit for returning patients, request, enter, and scan financial/insurance information, annual general consent for treatment and notice of privacy practices, and the yearly health history in the Intergy Greenway system.
  • Promptly answer, screen, and route incoming calls.
  • Register new patients in the Intergy Greenway system.
  • Schedule patients for providers, as needed.
  • Accept patients’ payments and record incoming payments per the cash receipt policy.
  • Clerk Record incoming checks received via mail, per cash receipt policy.
  • Process credit card payments and record accordingly.
  • Assist with the processing of Purchased Referred Care claims for payment.
  • Assist with collection efforts by contacting patients via telephone.
  • Alert in a timely manner administration and/or other appropriate staff to discrepancies, gaps, or other problems with individual or groups of patient health information.
  • Adheres to and supports facility policies, programs and activities.
  • Advance job knowledge and skills through continuing education efforts after approval of Supervisor.
  • Attend staff and other meetings, in-services and other events as directed by the Supervisor.
