About The Position

The Support Services Manager is responsible for assisting the Support Services Director in building self-empowerment and removing barriers to self-sufficiency for Corps members. The Supportive Services Manager reports directly to the Support Services Director.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of work in case management or social services.
  • Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field can be substituted for three (3) years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work can be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
  • Two (2) years of experience working in local social services agencies, or public benefits access, preferred.
  • Ability to establish and foster relationships with multiple cross-sector partners and to work as a part of a collaborative team.
  • Excellent organizational skills; proven competence with collection and management of documentation and paperwork.
  • Experience with database management and recording/tracking of data.

  • Flexibility, professional demeanor, ability to respond calmly and positively to rapidly changing situations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity and cross-cultural issues.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
  • Familiarity with Boston neighborhoods is preferred.
  • Ability to speak additional languages is a plus.
  • A valid Driver’s License is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support services related to basic needs stabilization for individual Corps members and PowerCopsBOS alumni, including: Food access, housing, health and wellness, childcare, personal finance, legal assistance, etc
  • Collaborate with the Support Services Director to inform and implement support services for Corps members and PowerCopsBOS alumni by utilizing referral networks, referral processes, expungement services, etc.
  • Coordinate and implement training and orientations related to support services systems and resources for PowerCorpsBOS staff members.
  • Contribute to program development and enhancements from the supportive services lens.
  • Support data and evaluation metrics and measurement efforts.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.
