Requirements
- Masters degree in a related discipline.
- Graduate of accredited seminar or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
- Minimum of one-year experience in working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
- Fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.
Responsibilities
- Provide spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families.
- Make spiritual assessments of patients, taking into account mental, emotional, physical and spiritual stresses, and respond with appropriate counseling and care.
- Direct the spiritual plan of care.
- Act as a liaison to community clergy.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
- Train pastoral care volunteers.
