Requirements

Equal to a Masters degree in a related discipline.
Graduate of accredited seminar or school of theology or appropriate certification in hospital or pastoral ministry.
Minimum of one-year experience in working with patients/families dealing with life-threatening illness and death.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Responsibilities

Provide spiritual support to terminally ill patients and their families.
Make spiritual assessments of patients, taking into account mental, emotional, physical and spiritual stresses, and respond with appropriate counseling and care.
Direct the spiritual plan of care.
Act as a liaison to community clergy.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives.
Train pastoral care volunteers.
