About The Position

The Supported Employment Services Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the Supported Employment Program. This role involves providing regular onsite supervision and guidance to Supported Employment Job Coaches, including training new hires through mentoring on job responsibilities, teaching strategies, employer relations, and required documentation. The manager conducts regular and unannounced site visits to ensure quality services and support for participants, employers, and staff, and participates in a team approach to meet the diverse needs of individuals served. The position also involves identifying staffing needs, participating in recruitment, and creating work schedules for Job Coaches to ensure optimal utilization of authorized hours. In situations where Team Leaders are unavailable, the manager may provide direct job coaching support. A key aspect of the role is working with adults with developmental disabilities, completing SMART and outcome-oriented Individual Habilitation Service Plans, and approving supportive services that benefit participants' employment and habilitation plans. The manager also makes referrals to community resources, conducts initial participant assessments, develops individual service plans with periodic reviews, and maintains all participant reporting documents to meet various agency and regulatory requirements. Post-employment support to ensure job retention is also a responsibility. The role includes conducting monthly Safety Meetings and in-services on topics like HIPAA/Confidentiality, Special Incident Reports, and Job Coaching skills. Maintaining a community supportive services resource bank, sharing responsibilities with the team, participating in community outreach, and assisting with monthly billing and annual budget planning are also part of the duties. The manager may represent the agency on various community groups and taskforces as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, planning, social science or healthcare discipline plus two years of experience in a healthcare or social services agency, of which one year must have been in case management services for adults with developmental disabilities.
  • An additional three years of significant case management and/or job placement experience may substitute for the degree.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Supported Employment Program.
  • Provides regular onsite supervision and guidance to the Supported Employment Job Coaches.
  • Trains new Job Coaches as part of their onboarding process, including mentoring on job responsibilities, teaching strategies, employer relations, and required documentation.
  • Conducts regular and unannounced onsite visits to ensure quality services and support for participants, employers, and staff.
  • Participates in a team approach to meet the program supports, skill training, work experience, life skills, and unsubsidized employment/supported employment work needs of people served.
  • Identifies staffing needs and participates in the recruitment process.
  • Completes work schedules for Job Coaches to ensure optimal utilization of authorized hours for each participant.
  • Provides hands-on job coaching supports for participants as needed when Team Leaders are not available.
  • Works with adults with developmental disabilities.
  • Completes Individual Habilitation Service Plans with work-related objectives that are measurable (SMART) and outcome-oriented.
  • Approves supportive services that benefit the employment plan/habilitation services plan of participants.
  • Makes referrals to other community resources to meet participant’s needs.
  • Conducts an initial assessment of the participant and develops the participant’s individual service plan with periodic review semi-annually and annually.
  • Maintains all participants’ reporting documents, including Individual Habilitation Services Plans, to meet Regional Center, Department of Rehabilitation, DDS, and CARF reporting requirements.
  • Is responsible for post-employment needs of participants to ensure job retention.
  • Provides monthly Safety Meetings to the Team Leaders and ensures information is conveyed to participants at their employment site.
  • Conducts monthly in-services on topics such as HIPAA/Confidentiality, Special Incident Reports, Job Coaching skills, and teaching strategies.
  • Maintains a community supportive services resource bank that targets the populations served and geographic areas served.
  • Shares responsibilities and accomplishments with all members of the Division team.
  • Participates in community outreach and community training seminars to provide information regarding workforce development services.
  • Participates in the Monthly Billing process, including completing required progress reports.
  • Participates in the annual budget planning process for the supported employment program.
  • Represents the agency on different community groups, taskforces, committees, and panels as assigned by the Division 200 Director of Programs.
