About The Position

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is seeking an Aboriginal Supported Child Development Worker for a term position ending February 2028. This full-time role involves supporting children with extra support needs to fully participate in child care settings. The position focuses on planning and implementing strategies for inclusion, providing culturally appropriate daily experiences, maintaining communication with parents, and preparing required reports. CSFS is an innovative and progressive leader in Indigenous health and family services, emphasizing culture in all its operations and serving 11 member Nations with over 475 employees.

Requirements

  • Early Childhood Education Basic and Post Basic Education; or post graduate courses related to child development and special needs (e.g. Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology) with minimum two years’ experience
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Basic First Aid Level One

Responsibilities

  • Support children with extra support needs to fully participate in the child care setting
  • Plan and implement strategies and activities for inclusion
  • Provide culturally appropriate daily experiences that support and promote the development of all children in the setting
  • Maintain regular communication with parents
  • Prepare reports as required (i.e. monthly, annual)
