About The Position

In this role, you’ll support customers to live independently, feel valued, and stay connected through practical, respectful care. As a Support Worker, you’ll work with customers who have complex mental health needs and additional conditions such as learning disabilities, autism or neurological conditions. This is a varied and rewarding role where no two days are the same, offering real opportunities to help people achieve their goals, grow in independence, and progress on their recovery journey.

Requirements

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working together with an eye for detail.
  • Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in care before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children.
  • The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.
  • Work in a trauma informed way and ensure we listen and understand each customer’s individual story and what’s important to them.
  • A Level 2 diploma in Care or equivalent experience (or willing to study towards it).
  • An Enhanced DBS with barring list (we pay).
  • A vehicle insured for business use (and a license!).

Responsibilities

  • Creating person-centred action plans to help build structure and purpose. Support might include completing a budget plan or working through coping strategies with customers.
  • Support a customer to access the community for activities such as a trip to the beach, cinema, or a picnic in the park.
  • Help customers take their first steps towards independent living, including developing skills to maintain their tenancy, complete in-house learning, or explore volunteering and career opportunities.
  • Recognise every customer is different and you’re able to adopt a flexible, personal approach, listening to customers to understand their needs.
