This role maintains hardware and software for all computers and associated peripherals located in the various departments of the County. It also maintains computer and peripheral inventory and maintenance logs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and replacing computer hardware.
  • Ability to install/configure the OS and technology applications.
  • Related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with help desk operations.
  • Maintain all County computers, mobile devices, basic network communication equipment, and associated peripherals. Analyze ways of making the computers and associated peripherals more productive and efficient.
  • Install, update, troubleshoot and maintain computer operating systems and version upgrades; operating systems include but are not limited to Windows, iOS, Android, etc.
  • Install, update, troubleshoot and maintain computers and associated hardware. Hardware includes but is not limited to PCs, laptops, tablets, printers, scanners, etc.
  • Install, update, troubleshoot and recommend computer application software. Software includes but is not limited to MS Office, departmental specific applications and other computer client software.
  • Provide technical assistance. Duties include ample response to communication hardware, and software questions; create and update procedure manuals digitally with corrective actions. Help train and assist users in computer and peripheral management procedures.
  • Assist with the maintenance of public property assets and departmental inventory listing of Technology Services computer equipment.
  • Serve as a member of the after-hours on-call team.
  • Assist on projects assigned by the Technology Services Director and any other duties as assigned.
