About The Position

Location: Bellevue Public Schools Schedule: Flexible part-time hours, Monday–Friday Availability required during both the school year and summer programs Compensation: $15.00 under 18 years of age, under 18 years of age, $17.16 per hour

Requirements

  • Minimum Age: 16 years
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must complete Background Checks (required prior to hire): Nebraska Child Abuse & Neglect Registry, General Background Check, FBI Fingerprint Background Check (required for candidates 18+)
  • Employment eligibility verified through E-Verify

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children, lead engaging activities, and ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
  • Support program operations and uphold DHHS licensing requirements through active supervision, relationship building, and positive behavior guidance.
  • Interact with children of various ages and abilities in a positive, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Actively supervise and engage with children throughout program hours, ensuring a safe, structured, and enriching environment.
  • Assist with the planning, set-up, and clean-up of daily activities and snack times.
  • Understand and follow emergency procedures and safety protocols as outlined in staff training.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all communications, documentation, and interactions with children, families, and staff.
  • Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and strong attendance habits.
  • Demonstrate active listening, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation, and persuasion skills to support a positive program culture.
  • Support the implementation of program expectations and behavior guidance strategies.
  • Accurately complete required documentation (e.g., accident or behavior reports) in a timely manner.
  • Function effectively in a variety of settings including classrooms, gymnasiums, outdoor areas, hallways, school buses, and field trips.
  • Be flexible with work assignments, including assisting at other sites when needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with families, district personnel, and fellow Kids’ Time staff.
  • Understand and support the goals and operational procedures of the Bellevue Public Schools Foundation and the Kids’ Time program.
  • Maintain CPR and First Aid certification and Required annual in-service training hours as outlined by DHHS licensing
