County of Mason•Mason County, WA

About The Position

Provides specialized administrative support in a law enforcement agency under general supervision. The position assists the public, law enforcement personnel, and court employees in person, by phone, and through written correspondence. Work includes providing timely and accurate information; processing records, court documents, and other paperwork; and entering, validating, and correcting information in computer systems. The Support Specialist I independently handles the daily objectives of an assigned enforcement or compliance support function, while generally working under closer supervision and with less independence than Support Specialist II and III employees until proficiency is acquired. The role uses complex software and legal systems, including county, jail, and state and federal reporting systems. Work is periodically reviewed for the adequacy and accuracy of records, reports, and functions. The position may involve stressful situations and strict deadlines and requires sound judgment within existing policies and procedures. The recruitment establishes a Civil Service eligibility list. Successful completion of the recruitment and examination process may result in placement on the list, but does not guarantee employment or appointment.
