About The Position

This position plays a critical role in supporting the Women's Center, and the Medical Director in data collection, preparation, and presentation. The data is used for supporting breast conference/tumor board, compliance with MQSA and ACR standards and the positive predictive value of breast cancer detection for our Women's Center. This role enables our program to meet the requirements to continue to be a breast center of excellence.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
  • Computer skills (word, excel, power points).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in medical vocabulary and a general understanding of hospital policy and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with patients on the film consult process and obtains prior imaging from various external facilities. Cross-checks reports and CDs to ensure every image has its report.
  • Creates accession numbers in Epic for every image needing importing for film consults and new patients.
  • Imports all outside CDs through PACS scan into synapse Fuji.
  • Individually and accurately transfers all images and links them to the Hologic manager.
  • Assists in Breast conference/tumor board preparation, via multidisciplinary collaboration with the referring breast surgeon's clinical team, MRI department staff, oncology nurse navigators, and medical oncology clinical staff.
  • Organizes and analyzes data used to determine the positive predictive value for Breast Imagers.
  • Acts as a liaison between Breast Imagers, Breast Surgeons and clinical staff.
  • Accurately enters pathology findings into the daily tracking report. This information is presented to the Medical Director, which supports the medical audits for comparison with National Benchmarking.
  • Assists in ensuring the department is compliant with ACR and MQSA requirements by gathering the supporting documentation used for the Peer Review and equip process.
  • Collect and track data for process improvement for MRI, film consult and biopsy turnaround time.
  • Adheres to HMH's Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
