SUPPORT SERVICES WORKER/Breastfeeding Counselor
About The Position
The Fulton County Board of Health is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of Support Services Worker within the Fulton County Board of Health in the Community Health Services/ WIC Division. This is a WIC Breastfeeding Grant position. Under general supervision, acts as a paraprofessional who provides basic breastfeeding support to WIC participants. Counsels and gives breastfeeding information to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, including informing them about the benefits of breastfeeding, overcoming common barriers, and assuring a successful and positive experience meeting their individual breastfeeding goals. Assist breastfeeding mothers with breastfeeding issues.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older
- Hold GED/high school diploma
Nice To Haves
- Enthusiastic and positive about breastfeeding and wants to help other mothers have a positive experience.
- Has breastfed at least one baby for a minimum of six months.
- Is currently or a former WIC participant.
- Has good communication skills.
